The women's 3 made a winning start to the 2024/25 league season. Ellie S scored an early goal after connecting with Charlotte G. Telford continued to dominate and quickly doubled the lead when Charlotte G got on the end of a pass from Shirley H to slip the ball nicely past the keeper. However, Telford did not have it all their own way, Bloxwich fought back and a little bit of loose defending saw them score two goals in quick succession.
Telford showed amazing resilience and a great cross into the circle found Charlotte G scoring her second goal of the game. Shortly before half-time Cassie N won a penalty corner. This was initially struck by Shirley H, with the goal keeper making a good save, but kicked the ball right back to Shirley who hammered it into the corner of the goal.
The half-time score was 4-2, and this is how the game ended. Telford improved their defensive efforts and controlled the game well. Niamh A battled hard in the centre of the pitch and was given a green card for a couple of stick tackles. Player of the match was Aine W. Next week we have a short road trip to Lilleshall to play Newport 1s.
