Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- I don’t have a hockey stick – is this a problem? Not at all! We have plenty of sticks of all different sizes for you to borrow at every session.
- Do I need to bring any other equipment? We recommend wearing shin pads (standard football ones are absolutely fine), but we also have these available to borrow if you don't have your own. We also strongly recommend wearing a mouthguard (gum shield). These can be purchased online or directly from the club office for £5. Because these sessions will be highly skills-focused rather than match-play, contact will be kept to an absolute minimum.
- What should my child wear? Whatever they feel most comfortable running around in! It could be school PE kit, a football shirt, or even a sparkly jumper. As long as it doesn't restrict their movement and they are happy, it’s perfect. : )
- What footwear is best? Please note that football boots are strictly prohibited—this includes both metal studs and moulded blades, as they damage our specialist astroturf pitch. Normal trainers are absolutely fine, or astroturf-specific trainers if you have them for extra grip.
- How many sessions can we attend? You can attend all of them or just one. You are also welcome to arrive a bit late or leave early if needed. We are completely flexible, whatever works best for your family.
- Can I invite friends and family? Absolutely! Hockey is always best enjoyed with friends, so please feel free to share this information with anyone you think might be interested, the more, the merrier!
- Is there anything else we need to bring? Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to all sessions. You may want to pack a quick snack for the Urban Games sessions to keep their energy up, and a packed lunch will be required for the all-day PerfX Camp.
