T&WHC Masterclass with Olympic & Commonwealth Games Athletes (updated)

UPDATE 19th December - We regret to inform you that due to a recurring injury, David will be unable to attend the upcoming hockey masterclass as he has undergone a last minute back operation today. The surgeon was able to fit him in before the Christmas break and he'll be bed bound recovering.

However, we are excited to announce that GB & England player Lily Walker, will be taking his place. Lily is a fantastic coach and we are confident that she will provide an equally inspiring and informative session. Lily won a gold medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and was part of the GB squad for Paris 2024.

Lily is unable to stay for the Masterclass 3 (u16 & u18s) but Great Britain u21 (EDP) player Barney Bithell will step in for this final session. Barney has represented England at u16, u18s & u21s as well as being part of the GB EDP. Last year he helped secure a Premier Division place for Bowdon HC after and currently sits at the top of Division One North with Loughborough Students HC in his final year of studies.

Join us for an unforgettable junior performance masterclass hosted by Olympic & Commonwealth Games athletes.

Telford & Wrekin Hockey Club are delighted to announce a junior masterclass with former junior players, David Goodfield & Callum Mackenzie.

The masterclass will be a 2 hour training session led by David & Callum at Telford & Wrekin HC. David has recently competed in the Paris Olympics, captains Premier League side Surbiton HC and coached Richmond HC to back to back promotions from National East to the Premier Division. Callum has represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games and plays his hockey for Premier League side, Wimbledon HC. Callum is the lead coach for the Wimbledon Girls Talent Academy. The masterclass sessions will be overseen by their former junior coach and o35s World Cup winner, Liam J Hennessy.

Experience:

Time: 9.15am - 11.15am

Age: Under 10s & U12s - (School Years: 4s, 5s, 6s & 7s)

Masterclass 2: Under 14s

Time: 11.30am - 1.30pm 

Age: Under 14s - (School years: 8s & 9s)

Masterclass 3: Under 16s & 18s

Time: 1.45pm - 3.45pm. 

Age: U16 and u18s - (School years: 10s, 11s, lower 6th & upper 6th)
