Junior Alumni Selected For World Cup Qualifiers

Telford & Wrekin Hockey Club is bursting with pride to announce that two of our junior alumni, Callum Mackenzie and David Goodfield, have been selected for their respective national squads for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

It is always a special moment for the club to see players who began their journey on our pitches progress to the very pinnacle of the sport. Their selection is a testament not only to their individual dedication and hard work but also to the strength of the youth coaching and development pathway we strive to provide for all our junior members.

Callum Mackenzie – Scotland

Callum has been named in the 19-man Scotland squad travelling to Santiago, Chile. The tournament, taking place from 28 February to 8 March, represents a historic opportunity for the "Blue Sticks," as the Scotland men’s team aims to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in their history.

David Goodfield – England

David has been selected to represent England in their qualifier tournament in Ismailia, Egypt. Starting on 1 March 2026, England will face a challenging group, taking on Japan in their opening fixture before facing the host nation, Egypt, and the USA.
