The 3rd team travelled to Willenhall E-Act School to play against a strong Bloxwich M2s.
A 14 man squad lined up with rotation support management from Jon Barclay on the side, we knew we would be up against a tough team.
The game started and within 20 seconds their umpire has gone from zero to 100% anger and his hand was hovering over the card pocket like a cowboy over his gun holster! A tough 70 minutes ahead.
The 1st 35 minutes was nearly all played in our half of the pitch! Bloxwich high press kept the defence busy struggling to get the ball out. At 7 minutes in a Bloxwich short corner strike deflected of keepers Toms pad and on its way out to the side of the goal hit Moets foot. A Flick was awarded and our protests ignored. Superbly Tom saved the flick.
Nit-picking umpires supressed anything Telford were trying to do in getting quick balls away and we survived the half nil-nil.
Half time chat was to improve our play, link up passes our passes.
Telford were the 1st to break the score line with Duff pushing through the ball Tommy Lauder who smashed the ball into the roof of the net based a static keeper, celebrations indeed and seeing the umpire begrudgingly award the goal and looking more dejected than the Bloxwich players was something to see!
3 minutes later Bloxwich levelled it back to 1-1.
Telford made it 2-1 after a pin pointed ball from Andy Lloyd found Tommy for a near post deflect into the goal. 2-1
Telford players starting to tire struggled with some simple game management and relentless questionable fouls awarded against us and Bloxwich made it 2-2 with 5 minutes to go.
The team hung it out and the game finished 2-2.
A very hard game where the home advantage for Bloxwich was certainly present.
MOM went to the excellent Tom Cornwell who played a great game in goal this week.
