The women got caught in the typical Staffordshire moorlands drizzle and allowed Leek to run an early goal into our net, this was followed soon after by another quick move from Leek to make it 2-0 after ten minutes. Finally, the mist cleared and Telford started to play the remainder of the first half was a mixture of stick tackles and hard effort from the Telford team.

The second half was a different game all together, Telford had a number of chances with quick balls from the midfield up to the fast thinking forwards who with a little bit more luck could have easily scored. The game finished with the band of hardy Telford supports saying we should have and could have won that game! Credit to Dani who closed down Leek on every short corner strike but unfortunately ending in a trip to A&E after a direct strike to the hand. Player of the match was awarded to Dani F.
