The womens 2s opened their season with a 3-1 win against Lichfield 4s.
The 2s squad this week combined some regular and new faces as well as welcoming some players returning from university.
Going into the first game unfamiliar with playing together as a team and unsure of the side that Lichfield would be fielding, Telford started a little tentavively, playing it safe and although creating some chances with some good play round the back were unable to capitalise.
They were denied twice through the unfortunate timing of the whistle but then after
numerous short corners, Telford were finally able to get ahead after advantage was played and Eliza Brannon was able to get a touch to put it across the line.
Lichfield fought back strongly following this and were able to equalise against the run of play.
In the second half Telford dug deep and took control of the game, they scored twice more through open play through Rosie and Eliza again to end 3-1. A positive start to the season.
Eliza Brannon was voted as MoM. Thanks to Shirley for manaing the team for us. We would also like to acknowledge and thank Sue Hughes for all the hard work she has done in the last few years for the 2s.
